Exciting Tattersalls HIT purchase
This year’s Tattersalls Horses In Training Sale proved more popular than ever with international buyers, and with good reason, having been the source of multiple top performers across the world in recent years, many of whom relish new surroundings and improve into their older years.
Exactly the sort of horse who fits this profile is Boomer Bloodstock’s latest purchase, Lot 1063, Wodeton. A 3-year-old son of Wootton Bassett, the gelding was bought for 75,000gns (US$90,400) from Andrew Balding’s stable and has a Timeform rating of 95. Having already proven himself a winner, and he has been very consistent, placing in a further 5 of his 9 starts. He loves faster ground and will be heading to California to join Phil D’Amato at Santa Anita.
He’s a typical son of Wootton Bassett with a lovely rich, dark coat and a powerful physique. His race performances match that too, as he has an impressive turn of foot. The progeny of Wootton Bassett have been taking off in recent years, and they regularly improve beyond their Classic year – as shown by two of his sire sons, Wooded and Almanzor.
We’re very excited to see what he can do in California!
