Boomer Bloodstock finds four mares at Keeneland
After the Fasig-Tipton November Sale saw some incredible results, Boomer Bloodstock kicked off in Book 1 of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, and landed four broodmares and broodmare prospects throughout the sale.
Hip 232 – Ruthin
Bought for Australia-based Silverdale Farm, Ruthin (Ribchester) is an excellent outcross mare for Australia for $400,000. She is a talented, stakes-winning sprinter with impressive speed, and a half-sister to multiple G3 winner Hit The Bid, whilst her dam, Selinka, is a dual Listed winner. Hit The Bid is by Exceed And Excel, which shows the family works well with Danehill, a line so prominent in Australian sires.
Hip 679 – Cantata
Cantata, by Medaglia d’Oro, is a quality 4-year-old mare from a deep female family. She was a $950,000 yearling and an impressive 2YO winner on debut at Saratoga, and is in foal to proven G1 sire Munnings. Her Stakes-winning dam, Stoweshoe is a sister to G1 winner Taris. Cantata was purchased for $300,000 for a client to breed in Kentucky.
Hip 1405 – Windfall Profit
Another Saratoga winner, Windfall Profit was purchased from the historic Claiborne Farm for $250,000. By Malibu Moon, the beautiful gray is out of Hit It Rich, a multiple G3 winner. She is in foal to the proven sire Blame and was purchased for a client to breed in Kentucky.
1794 – Tulane Girl
The final purchase of the week at Keeneland, Tulane Girl, by Pioneerofthenile, was bought in-foal to exciting young sire Mendelssohn for $50,000. She is well-bred, being from the same family as Cantata, with the pair sharing the same grand dam. She is a well-balanced mare with plenty of depth to her family and heads to Canada to join Discovery Racing’s broodmare band.
