Boomer buys six for HKJC at Karaka Yearling Sale 2025

The 2025 Karaka National Yearling Sale has wrapped up, and Boomer Bloodstock was successful in securing six high-quality colts for the Hong Kong Jockey Club. With an eye for athleticism, pedigree, and Hong Kong suitability, we made strategic acquisitions from some of New Zealand’s most renowned studs.

Lot 11: Savabeel x Indecision

We wasted no time on Day 1, securing this outstanding colt by Champion Sire Savabeel for $625,000 from Trelawney Stud. Out of the stakes-winning mare Indecision, he hails from a Group 1-winning family and carries all the attributes we look for in a future Hong Kong performer. With an effortless walk, an athletic frame, and a deep girth, he will be well suited to Hong Kong.

Lot 22: Per Incanto x Isla’s Dream

Our second purchase at Karaka was a powerful son of Per Incanto, acquired for $160,000 from Elsdon Park. Known for producing tough, durable racehorses, Per Incanto has made a significant impact in Hong Kong, and this colt has all the physical credentials to follow suit. This colt is out of Isla’s Dream (Rothesay) the half-sister to stakes winner Evalina (I Am Invincible) who is the dam of Group 1 winner, Socks Nation (Sioux Nation). With natural strength, he is another solid addition to the HKJC team.

Lot 149: Satono Aladdin x No More Doubt

Another high-profile addition for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, this exceptional colt by Satono Aladdin was secured for $525,000 from Rich Hill Stud and was an absolute standout on type. Out of No More Doubt (Redoute’s Choice), he’s a full brother to Group 2 winner Lantern Way.  This colt had an incredible presence about him, walked with purpose and we weren’t leaving the complex without him.

Lot 279: Proisir x Secret Spirit

We made an early move on Day 2 to acquire this well-built Proisir colt for $325,000 from Grangewilliam Stud. Out of Group 3-winning mare Secret Spirit,  this colt exudes class and has the toughness required to excel in Hong Kong. Proisir’s reputation as a top-class sire continues to rise, and this colt fits the mold of his best progeny—athletic, tough, and scopey.

Lot 316: Proisir x So Wicked

Another exciting Proisir colt joins the HKJC team after we secured this striking individual for $260,000 from Haunui Farm. He is the first foal out of his seven-time winning dam by Street Cry, So Wicked, who boasts a pedigree full of durability and performance. With his deep girth, well-set shoulder, and fluid movement, this colt will be a great addition to the team.

Lot 356: Savabeel x The Solitaire

Wrapping up our purchases, we were thrilled to secure this smooth-moving Savabeel colt for $475,000 from Milan Park. Out of the stakes-winning O’Reilly mare, The Solitaire (O’Rielly), he is a full brother to Group 1 NZ One Thousand Guineas winner, The Perfect Pink. With his regal pedigree, powerful frame, and effortless action, he’ll hopefully be well sought after at the Hong Kong International Sale.
