Boomer Bloodstock secures twelve at Magic Millions 2026

The Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale once again delivered a strong and competitive marketplace, with quality stock highly sought after across all books. The buying bench was deep throughout the week and Boomer Bloodstock was pleased to secure a diverse group of yearlings for a range of clients, including multiple purchases for The Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Across the sale, Boomer Bloodstock was able to secure twelve yearlings that fit a variety of profiles, from athletic colts suited to the Hong Kong system, to sharp, precocious types for Australian trainers, along with quality fillies for racing and future broodmare potential.

Purchases

Lot 124 – Maurice x Boomnova (colt)

Lot 124, a colt by Maurice out of the fast Stakes winner Boomnova, was our first purchase for The Hong Kong Jockey Club on Day 1. Secured for $250,000 from the Silverdale Farm draft, he is the first foal of his dam and comes from a tough, hard-knocking family, making him an ideal profile for Hong Kong racing.

Lot 242 – Toronado x Eclair (colt)

On Day 2 we added Lot 242, a striking colt by Toronado out of Stakes winner Eclair. Purchased for $400,000 from Milburn Creek, this colt combines the proven Hong Kong influence of his sire with a black-type producing female family.

Lot 264 – Toronado x Exocet (colt)

Another Toronado colt followed shortly after in Lot 264, this time out of Stakes winner Exocet. Bought for $225,000 from Sledmere Stud for The Hong Kong Jockey Club, he is a well-built individual from a strong family that includes Stakes winner Ready For Victory.

Lot 356 – Brutal x Honey Blossom (colt)

We were also pleased to team up with John Thompson Racing to secure Lot 356, a sharp colt by Brutal from Middlebrook Valley Lodge for $180,000. Out of Honey Blossom, a half-sister to the talented Kardashing, he comes from a family packed with winners and looks a very forward type for Randwick.

Lot 410 – Zoustar x Julinka (colt)

One of the standout colts of the sale was Lot 410, a son of Champion Australian sire Zoustar out of Julinka. Secured for $625,000 from Westbury Stud for The Hong Kong Jockey Club, he hails from a proven, stakes-producing family and was a colt that impressed on both type and pedigree.

Lot 488 – Hellbent x Loretta (colt)

Lot 488, a powerful colt by G1-winning sprinter Hellbent out of Loretta, was another purchase for The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Bought for $340,000 from Yarraman Park, he is from a family rich in stakes winners and has the strength and physique to suit Hong Kong racing.

Lot 760 — Spirit of Boom x Sally’s Day (colt)

Later in the sale, Lot 760, a colt by Spirit Of Boom out of Sally’s Day, was secured for $220,000 for a great group of clients from Three Bridges Thoroughbreds and will head to the Tony Gollan stable. He is the spitting image of his dam’s full brother Better Than Ready and looks a natural runner.

Lot 855 – All Too Hard x Star Progeny (filly)

Lot 855 saw us secure a quality filly by All Too Hard out of Star Progeny for $420,000 from Bell River Thoroughbreds for client Murray Thoroughbreds. From a stakes-performing family, she will head into training with Sam & Anthony Freedman.

Lot 880 – St Mark’s Basilica x Swiss Kiss (colt)

Teaming up with Lindsey Smith, we purchased Lot 880, a sharp colt by multiple Group 1 winner St Mark’s Basilica (FR) from Westbury Stud for $150,000. He presents as an athletic type with plenty of quality that will mature with time and suit Lindsey’s system to a tee.

Lot 1054 – Microphone x Glengal (filly)

Book 2 again proved a happy hunting ground for value. Lot 1054, a mature filly by Microphone out of the Zoustar mare Glengal, was purchased for $47,000 from Raheen Stud for Lucy Yeomans Racing. Her dam has already produced the promising two-year-old Metalcraft and she comes from a fast, precocious family.

Lot 1069 – Peltzer x Holy Mo (filly)

We followed this with Lot 1069, a striking filly by Peltzer out of Holy Mo, secured for $60,000 from Redbank North with Lucy Yeomans Racing. She is from a prolific black-type family that includes sire North Pacific.

Lot 1075 – Better Than Ready x Intensity (filly)

Rounding out the sale was Lot 1075, a sharp filly by Better Than Ready out of Intensity, purchased for $35,000 from Yarramalong Park once again for Lucy Yeoman’s stable. Her dam is by Champion sire Snitzel and she is from an early, speed-oriented family.

The Magic Millions sale continues to provide opportunities at all levels of the market, from elite colts for Hong Kong to value buys in Book 2 for Australian racing stables. We were delighted with the group of yearlings secured this week and look forward to watching their progress as they head to their respective trainers.
