Six Quality Yearlings Secured in Perth
The 2026 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale can be overlooked by some but the strength and depth of the catalogue on offer this year was impressive with quality individuals attracting strong interest from a broad buying bench.
Boomer Bloodstock was pleased to secure six yearlings across the sale for valued clients including the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Pearce Racing, Lindsey Smith Racing and Geisel Park Stud. The draft reflects a balance of proven local pedigrees, precocious speed influences and classic middle-distance types.
Purchases

Lot 7 – Nicconi x Hot Goods (filly)
We were pleased to get on the board early on Day 1, securing this outstanding type from the Einoncliff draft for $120,000 alongside leading WA trainers Pearce Racing. By Nicconi, she is presented as a sharp, athletic type with plenty of quality and looks a very exciting addition to the stable heading forward.

Lot 138 – Too Darn Hot x Brave Angel (colt)
Purchase number two with Pearce Racing came in the form of this impressive colt by sire on fire, Too Darn Hot, secured for $325,000 from the proven Greenfields Lodge nursery. He is the first foal of his stakes-winning dam and was a colt we identified early as sharp early type. A quality individual with strength and presence, he has all the attributes to develop into a serious racehorse.

Lot 147 – Playing God x Clear Blue Sky (colt)
Our first purchase in the West for the Hong Kong Jockey Club was this well-made colt by Playing God, bought for $260,000 from Alwyn Park Stud. He hails from a fast family, with his dam a half-sister to Group 1 winner and sire Portland Sky. A strong, balanced type, he shapes as an ideal prospect for the Hong Kong system.

Lot 154 – Playing God x Cosmah Domination (filly)
A highlight of the week was this magnificent filly by Playing God, secured for $475,000 from Mungrup Stud in conjunction with Pearce Racing and Geisel Park Stud. She is a full-sister to Group 1 winner Bustler and Group 2 winner A Lot Of Good Men, giving her one of the best current pedigrees in WA. Coupled with her physical quality with a big hind end engine, she represents an exciting racing and future breeding prospect.

Lot 177 – Awesome Rock x Fo’ Shizzle (colt)
This colt by Awesome Rock appealed as a classic, derby-style prospect and was secured for $85,000 from J Farms for Lindsey Smith Racing. Out of a stakes-placed mare who has proven herself as a top producer, he offers both pedigree strength and scope. We look forward to seeing him develop with time and maturity and heads East to Lindsey’s stable in Geelong.

Lot 351 – Lightsaber x From Fromm (colt)
Rounding out our purchases late on Day 2 was this eye-catching colt by Lightsaber from Ridgeport Holdings, secured with Pearce Racing. He hails from a strong Western Australian family that includes Battle Hero and Storyville, and presents as a colt with plenty of substance and local appeal.
We are very pleased with the group secured at this year’s Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale. The depth of quality on offer in Western Australia continues to strengthen, and we look forward to watching these yearlings progress through their respective systems in the months ahead.
