Boomer secures seven at Inglis Classic

The 2026 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale once again proved why it is regarded as one of the most reliable sources of athletic, value-driven racehorses on the Australian calendar. With strong competition throughout the three-day sale, Boomer Bloodstock was pleased to secure seven yearlings for a range of clients, including five in conjunction with John Thompson Racing and two on behalf of the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

The sale continues to reward those who prioritise type and athleticism, and we were delighted with the balance of quality, pedigree and value across our draft.

Purchases

Lot 125 – Portland Sky x Lakkari (colt)

We opened our account early in the sale alongside John Thompson Racing with the purchase of this imposing colt from Widden Stud for a steal at $60,000. By up-and-coming sire Portland Sky, he hails from an impressive black-type family and presents as a strong, athletic individual. He looks the type to furnish well and develop into a competitive prospect for his future connections.

Lot 177 – Exceedance x Meikas (colt)

The second purchase with John Thompson Racing from the Vinery Stud draft for $70,000, was this forward colt by the promising young sire Exceedance. His pedigree carries a strong international flavour, featuring two multiple Group 1-winning South African Champions, giving him a depth of black type rarely found at this level of the market. He is an appealing, well-balanced colt who represents excellent value.

Lot 231 – Zousain x Nadeem Lass (filly)

Our third purchase on Day 1 with John Thompson Racing was this outstanding filly secured from Glen Gallic for $160,000. By Zousain, she is out of a four-time winning and Group-placed mare, and her pedigree page includes multiple Group 1 winner Eremein. She is a quality filly with a strong hip and  plenty of presence that shapes as a fast, early type.

Lot 246 – Per Incanto x New Status Quo (colt)

The only Per Incanto yearling catalogued in the sale, this colt was a standout and was secured for $300,000 from Sledmere Stud on behalf of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. By a sire who has proven extremely effective in Hong Kong, he is from the family of superb G1 winner I Wish I Win. A well-made colt with strength and athleticism, he looks ideally suited to the Hong Kong system.

Lot 299 – All Too Hard x Peroxide Princess (filly)

We commenced Day 2 with the purchase of this powerful filly for $160,000 from Vinery Stud with John Thompson Racing. By All Too Hard and out of a More Than Ready mare, she is bred on the same cross as Group 1 winners Wellington and Forbidden Love. She is a strong, well-balanced, powerful filly with a pedigree that suggests significant upside.

Lot 514 – Better Than Ready x Think Out Loud (colt)

One of the value buys of the sale, this colt was secured for $55,000 from Tyreel Stud with John Thompson Racing. A spitting image of his sire Better Than Ready, he is a half-brother to stakes performer All Woke and comes from a deep female family. An outstanding type physically, he appealed on both conformation and pedigree and looks to represent terrific value at his purchase price from one of the top nurseries in Australia.

Lot 618 – Written By x Ajay’s Ace (colt)

Our second purchase for the Hong Kong Jockey Club came in the form of this sharp Written By colt, secured for $140,000 from Goodwood Farm. From a tough female line, he has the strength and athleticism required for Hong Kong racing and presents as a colt well suited to that environment.

Overall, we were very pleased with the quality and value secured throughout the 2026 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale. The sale continues to offer outstanding opportunities to source athletic, well-bred individuals across a range of price points, and we look forward to seeing these yearlings progress into their respective training systems in the months ahead.
