Two Colts for Hong Kong at Melbourne Premier
Strength in the middle market defined the 2026 Inglis Premier Sale, with the median price climbing 20% to $120,000 compared to 2025 and competition for athletic individuals reached new heights. Boomer Bloodstock’s focus was on precision rather than volume, navigating the week with a selective eye to secure two colts on behalf of The Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Purchases

Lot 147 – Harry Angel x Kibibi (colt) – $360,000
Our first purchase of the sale came early in proceedings with Lot 147, a standout colt by Harry Angel, secured for $360,000 from the draft of Willow Grove Stud.
An athletic, forward type, he is out of an Exceed and Excel mare who is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Athelric. He presented as a colt with strength and purpose, and his physique suggests he will adapt well to the demands of Hong Kong racing.

Lot 406 – Toronado x Tinker McPhee (colt) – $240,000
On Day Two we secured Lot 406, a scopey colt by Toronado for $240,000. Raised at the proven nursery Cornerstone Stud, he is out of the talented stakes-performed mare Tinker McPhee.
This colt impressed with his balance and athleticism and represents the type of horse that continues to suit the Hong Kong system. Toronado’s progeny have proven themselves in the region, and this colt looks an ideal prospect to continue that trend.
We were pleased to add these two quality colts to the Hong Kong Jockey Club roster and look forward to watching their progress.
