2024 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale

The highly select, two-day Inglis Easter Yearling Sale invariably provides a great opportunity to hone in on some of Australia’s best bloodstock and this year was no exception. Boomer Bloodstock was able to purchase four impressive yearlings on behalf of domestic and international clients.

The Sale made history this year with the presentation of the Pierro x Winx Filly, bolstering the sale with a record $10,000,000 lot. For the 353 lots sold (445), the sale grossed $151m ($139m) with a clearance rate of 79% (85%) at an average of $427,805 ($386,917) and median of $300,000 ($280,000). Irrespective of the reduced clearance rate, the total sales figures exceeded those of 2023.

Lot 63 – Colt, Toronado x Hera

This athletic Toronado colt, Lot 63 was a $350,000 purchase from Gilgai Farm. Out of the dual G2-winning O’Reilly mare, Hera, this colt is a half-brother to Listed winner Herastar and is from the family of 3YO G3 winner and G1 placegetter Zabmanzor.

He was purchased for The Hong Kong Jockey Club and joins the team at Limitless Lodge and  is destined for the 2026 Hong Kong International Sale.

Lot 151 – Colt, Deep Field x Miss Exfactor

A powerful colt by successful sire Deep Field, he was a $240,000 purchase from Newgate Farm. He is from a top-class family with his dam being a G3-winning half-sister to G2-winning Boogie Dancer. The second dam is a three-quarter sister to G1 placegetter and dual G2 winner Impaler.

Lot 278 – Filly, Street Boss x Sezanne

Regarded by Boomer as one of the nicest fillies he has seen this year, she was a must have for his international client and was secured from Vinery Stud for $575,000.  Her dam, the G1 placegetter Sezanne, is the daughter of G2-winning Champagne Harmony. Her sire has produced the likes of G1 winners Anamoe, Cathryn Sophia and The Quarterback and this filly was bred by the successful breeder Greg Perry.

Lot 380 – Filly, Harry Angel x Vintage Harvest

The final purchase of the Sale was this well-built filly by Harry Angel for $280,000 from Sledmere Stud. She is the first foal out of the Lonhro mare Vintage Harvest, who is the daughter of G2 and dual G3 winner Vavasour. She hails from the great Valpolicella family that has produced stakes winners Vilanova, Vavasour and Celebrity Dream. She will be heading West to successful client, Geisel Park Stud.
