2026 Karaka National Yearling Sale Purchases

The New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale at Karaka once again presented a strong catalogue of athletic, well-bred yearlings and a competitive buying environment throughout the week. Boomer Bloodstock was pleased to secure four quality yearlings for clients, including two colts for The Hong Kong Jockey Club and two exciting prospects for WA clients Pearce Racing.

As is often the case at Karaka, the sale provided an excellent mix of proven New Zealand sire power, international influences and tough female families, profiles that continue to translate successfully to both Hong Kong and Australian racing.

Purchases

Lot 160 – Super Seth x Stella Grace (colt)

Lot 160, a standout colt by New Zealand’s exciting young sire Super Seth out of Stella Grace, was our first purchase for The Hong Kong Jockey Club. He was great value at $260,000, purchased from Haunui Farm and he comes from a proven, stakes-producing family that includes G2 winner Shania Dane. Exciting!

Lot 277 – Justify x Arcadia Angel (colt)

Lot 277 followed, an outstanding colt by unbeaten Triple Crown winner Justify out of Arcadia Angel. Purchased for $260,000 from Wentwood Grange in conjunction with Pearce Racing, he hails from an exceptional Western Australian family that includes top-class performers Arcadia Queen and Arcadia Dream and will be heading back to the west himself.

Lot 415 – Per Incanto x Fall on a Star (colt)

Another colt for The Hong Kong Jockey Club came in Lot 415, a striking son of Per Incanto out of Fall On A Star. Bought for $375,000 from Elsdon Park, he is from a fast female line and we just loved how he floated across the ground as he walked.

Lot 514 – Almanzor x Leading Lights (filly)

Rounding out our purchases was Lot 514, a gorgeous filly by Almanzor out of Leading Lights, secured for $100,000 from Cambridge Stud for Pearce Racing. She is out of a half-sister to Stakes winner Never Back Down and presents as a quality filly with plenty of upside.

Karaka continues to be a sale that consistently produces tough, athletic racehorses, and we were delighted with the group secured this year. Can’t wait to watch all their progress as we head back to Australia for Sydney’s Inglis Classic Sale.
