Six exciting Magics purchases

The Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale is amongst Australia’s best. This year’s edition was high on quality, and Boomer Bloodstock walked away with 11 purchases in total, including 5 for The Hong Kong Jockey Club.

We found some great value for our loyal clients at a range of price points, and we are really excited to see what they can do on the track.

Lot 229 – Filly – Zoustar x Personalised $800k

Secured from Musk Creek Farm, this is a rare filly from an exceptional family. Her dam, the Snitzel mare Personalised, is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Personal, and the pedigree holds multiple top-level performers. Zoustar has been doing a fantastic job as a sire, and this filly was our favourite of his in the sale. She was purchased for an overseas client to race and eventually join their broodmare band.

Lot 302 – Colt – Nicconi x Rock Garden $200k

Purchased with Matt Cumani, this colt is from the famous American Phipps family and is by one of Matt’s favourite sires in Nicconi. He is a very sound-looking and athletic type. He is out of the Fastnet Rock mare Rock Garden, making him a half-brother to one of Queensland’s most exciting 2-year-olds this season, Miss Coota.

Lot 358 – Colt – Brazen Beau x Serious Doubts $160k

This smart and correct colt by the excellent Brazen Beau was purchased with leading Sydney trainer John Thompson from the draft of Bell River Thoroughbreds. His precocious, winning dam is a half-sister to Group 3 winner and leading juvenile Decision Time, whilst four-time Group 1 winner Streama also features on his page.

Lot 540 – Colt – Deep Field x Wawail $250k

Secured post-sale with John O’Shea, this well-balanced colt by the leading sire Deep Field was prepared beautifully by leading consignors Three Bridges Thoroughbreds. His dam was high-class, winning six times including at Group 2 and Group 3 level, and her first produce to race is Listed winner Desi Prince. This colt is also closely related to South African Group 1 winner Al Muthana.

Lot 565 – Filly – I Am Invincible x Za Zi Ba $500k

From the family of Snitzel no less, this filly is beautifully bred and is by the Champion Sire I Am Invincible. She is the first foal from the juvenile winner and Listed-placed Za Zi Ba, and has a brilliant physique, with a strong hip and shoulder and a lovely deep chest. She was consigned by Kitchwin Hills and was purchased for Murray Thoroughbreds to race and eventually retire to their broodmare band.

Lot 657 – Colt – Shalaa x Bernarsini $200k

This solid colt by Shalaa was bought from Westbury Stud for an overseas client. His dam is by Bernardini, who brings strength and quality as a broodmare sire, and she is a half-sister to two Group 3 winners. This colt is also a half-brother to juvenile winner and Listed-placed Hawker Hurricane.
