US Stakes Win for Lunar Impact
It was terrific to see Lunar Impact (Zoustar) deliver a dominant performance in the Listed Mizdirection Stakes at Santa Anita over the weekend. Trained by Dan Blacker and ridden by Hector Berrios, she took control early, running away to win by five lengths over the six and a half furlong down-hill turf course. That marks her fourth career win and her first at stakes level from eleven starts.
By leading sire Australian sire Zoustar, Lunar Impact is out of the stakes-performed Compton Place mare Button Moon. She hails from a deep female family with her dam being a half-sister to English G2 winner Etlaala (Selkirk), Stakes placed Back On Top (Lope De Vega) and Selective (Selkirk). Her dam is also a half-sister to the dam of Champion European Sprinter and four time G1 winner Battaash.
We purchased her alongside Qatar Racing’s David Redvers for 100,000gns from New England Stud in Book 2 of the 2021 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. Congratulations to her owners DK Racing, Qatar Racing, Radley Equine, Rick Gold and Dave Odmark.
