2022 Inglis Classic Sale Purchases

The 2022 Inglis Classic Sale continues to go from strength to strength with another impressive few days of buying. It’s been dubbed the “type sale” amongst the industry as it’s increasingly becoming more about finding impeccable athletes rather than relying on the pedigree page and that’s exactly what Boomer Bloodstock was able to do with three purchases across the sale.

Lot 20 So You Think x Liamena colt $170,000

This colt by So You Think was purchased in conjunction with Matt Cumani and was from the Corumbene Stud draft. Matt and I both loved the walk on this colt, which was extremely well-balanced and a fluent action. He’s from a successful Corumbene family that includes G1 Golden Slipper winner, Farnan, on the page. So You Think is statistically one of the best stallions in Australia and this cross has already produced two Group 1 winners in D’Argento and Inference. He’ll head to Melbourne now where he’ll make an excellent addition to Matt’s training system.

Lot 108 So You Think x Nataya Rose filly $140,000

A second yearling by So You Think was purchased on Day 1, this time a filly out of a Canny Lad mare. Purchased from Robyn Wise she’s another great mover with an attractive head and good bone. The filly is from an excellent family that includes Group 1 winners Starspangledbanner, Amicus and Elvstroem and will be heading to Lindsey Smith having been purchased for a long term client.

Lot 529 Lean Mean Machine x Eloquent Ruby

After viewing the entire catalogue this colt by Lean Mean Machine went straight to the top of my list of must haves. Purchased in conjunction with Lindsey Smith, we couldn’t have been happier to secure this strong and athletic yearling from the high quality Silverdale Farm. Built like a three year old already he’s the perfect candidate for Lindsey’s beach training system. In terms of pedigree he’s out of a Turffontein mare, a sister to Group 2 winner Fontein Ruby and half-sister to Group 1 winner The Mitigator.
