2024 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale

The Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale is a standout event, brimming with quality from start to finish. This sale is renowned for offering exceptional broodmares, and this year was no exception as we secured 10 mares a lifetime stallion breeding right for our clients.

Lot 396 – Lifetime Breeding Right to Pierata

On behalf of a client, a lifetime breeding right to Pierata from Yulong Investments was purchased for $250,000. Pierata, a Group 1-winning sire, is already making waves, currently ranked third on the First-Season Sires table. His progeny, including Group 3 winners Coleman and Tobeornottobe, are examples of the quality he’s producing and will be backed up with a strong book of broodmares at Yulong.

Lot 402 – Afterlight (I Am Invincible)

Striking early at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale, we successfully acquired the gorgeous mare Afterlight for $500,000 from Chris Waller Racing. The Sydney winning sprinter pedigree is solid, being out of the Group 2-winning juvenile Twilight Royale. This also makes her a half-sister to Group 2 winner Serasana and stakes-placed Royale Hale.

Lot 413 – Avebury (Savabeel)

Our next purchase was Avebury, a stakes-winning mare, purchased for client Murray Thoroughbreds for $575,000. A strikingly beautiful and athletic mare, she boasts an impressive pedigree having been bred by Waikato Stud in New Zealand and is a full sister to G1-placed Paternal. Avebury will become a key addition to the broodmare band of Murray Thoroughbreds and be bred this season to I Am Invincible.

Lot 450 – Empress Of Wonder (Choisir)

Empress Of Wonder was our next purchase, again for Murray Thoroughbreds, and was acquired for $370,000 from Newgate Farm. This Group 3-placed mare is a half-sister to the stakes-placed Wonderful Riri, and she descends from the accomplished race mare Tsarina Wonder, a four-time winner.  She will continue in training with Anthony & Sam Freedman.

Lot 684 – Black Tulip (Lonhro)

On Day 2 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale, our first purchase was Black Tulip, purchased for $240,000 from Coolmore for WA Client Greenfields Lodge. She possesses a quality page with her dam, Sister Fromseattle, a half-sister to the American Champion 2YO Colt, Dehere. This notable pedigree is reflected in Black Tulip’s own production, with all four of her racing offspring being winners, including the stakes winner Niedorp. Currently, Black Tulip is in foal to the promising sire Home Affairs.

Lot 777 – Hasstobegood (NZ) (Per Incanto)

Our first of three purchases for client Daandine Stud was the impressive Group 3-placed mare, Hasstobegood, for $220,000 from Bell View Park Stud. The second purchase on behalf of Greenfields Lodge, was the stakes winner Impetuous from Newgate Farm.
