Two Exciting Fillies Secured at Keeneland September 2024

Boomer Bloodstock was once again back on ground at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in Kentucky, where records were broken with total sales for the 12 day sale amounting to US$411,749,500. There were over 36 yearlings selling for seven-figure sums, alongside a record-breaking average price of $150,548 for 2,735 yearlings sold and a top price of US$5m for a son of Curlin. The median price of $70,000 also matched the all-time high for the September Sale.

We teamed up with California trainer Dan Blacker to take home two exciting fillies.

The Keeneland Files were back once again as well and you can check out the six-part series here alongside past seasons.

Hip No.370 By Kentucky Derby winner Authentic out of multiple stakes winning mare Lucky Stride.

Our first purchase was an athletic filly by Kentucky Derby winner, Authentic, for $100,000 from Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services. This filly, offered in the supplementary entries to Book 1, represented outstanding value and slipped under the radar of our competitors. She is the first foal of multiple stakes winner Lucky Stride, and possesses all the qualities that make her an ideal candidate for success in California.

Hip No.840 Filly by Not This Time, out of a sister to G2 winner War Decree

We struck again in Book 2 with this classy filly by super sire Not This Time, a stallion that has seen incredible success recently with multiple Grade 1 winners.  We purchased this filly for $150,000 from Mulholland Springs and she boasts an impressive pedigree being out of Hermajestycommands, who is a sister to G2 winner War Decree. We particularly like how clean-boned she was through her limbs and has plenty of scope to improve and grow into a top racehorse.
